On top of this, our inspectors follow the<br \/>protocols below when conducting home inspections:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>We\u00a0typically request that clients attend the inspection but at this point in time,<br \/>we request that clients wait for our call and report instead. We can schedule a<br \/>brief call at the end of the inspection to provide a summary of our findings.<br \/>We can also conduct a phone review after sending the inspection report.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>However,\u00a0we suggest that buyers and sellers read the following recommendations below<br \/>should you wish to attend the inspection. \u00a0\u00a0some\u00a0facilities have begun propping fire doors open so that people don\u2019t have to\u00a0touch them to open them. propping fire doors open presents significant hazards<br \/>and Code<\/em><\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfpa.org\/codes-and-standards\/all-codes-and-standards\/list-of-codes-and-standards\/detail?code=101\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NFPA 101,\u00a0<em>Life Safety Code<\/em><\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/unitedfiredoors.com\/services\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NFPA 80,\u00a0<em>Standard for Fire Doors and Other Opening Protectives<\/em><\/a>,<br \/>govern the installation, inspection, testing and maintenance of fire<br \/>doors.\u00a0 Fire doors and other opening protectives such as shutters and<br \/>windows must be operable at all times.\u00a0 Operability of these systems<br \/>includes opening, closing and latching.\u00a0 Fire doors must be kept closed<br \/>and latched or arranged to be automatic closing during the time of a fire.<br \/>\u00a0In addition, blocking or wedging of doors in the open position is<br \/>prohibited, as it violates the required operation and closing feature
